COVID-19 recoveries top 1,200 in Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY – More than 1,200 people in Oklahoma who tested positive for COVID-19 have been listed as having recovered, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

As of April 15, the report stated that 1,240 people have recovered from the disease. The term “recovered” on the website is defined as “currently not hospitalized or deceased and 14 days after onset/report.” Additionally, 85 new recoveries were added to that total number on Wednesday.

For the state, the total number of positive cases had reached 2,263 at the time of the report. Of that number, 163 were hospitalized.

More than 54 percent of those who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the state of Oklahoma have already recovered, according to the report.

The report also listed the number of deceased at 123, and qualified that 83 of them had at least one comorbidity (diabetes, heart disease or circulatory disease, chronic lung disease, liver disease, or renal failure).

Throughout the state, 442 of 958 ICU beds (46 percent) are available and 839 of 1,028 ventilators (81.6 percent) are available, according to the report.
