Roberta man injured in wreck Monday morning

BRYAN COUNTY – One man was injured in a single vehicle accident at about 7:40 a.m. on Monday.

Alvin Wallace, 78 or Roberta, was driving a 2000 Ford pickup westbound on Old Highway 70 just east of Lone Oak Road, 1.3 miles east of Durant, when the vehicle went left off the roadway at a curve and struck a tree, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Wallace was transported by Bryan County EMS to TMC Hospital in Denison, Texas, where he was admitted in critical condition with injuries to trunk, legs and arms.

The vehicle was traveling at an unsafe speed for the road conditions, according to the report.

The OHP was assisted in the investigation by the Bryan County EMS and the Philadelphia Fire Department.
