Tough county matchups heading into the Bryan County Tournament

BRYAN COUNTY – One of the biggest sports events in Bryan County is just a week away. The 2022 edition of the Bray County Tournament is set to run Monday, Jan. 17 through Saturday, Jan. 22.

Following a week in which many of the county teams participated in tournaments, there are many doubleheaders this week and opportunities to tune up for the BCT.

A Top 10 matchups headlines the week as the Silo heads to Latta on Tuesday. The Lady Rebels are No. 7 in Class 2A and the Lady Panthers are No. 2 in Class 2A. Silo took third place in the Kingston New Year’s Classic last week and Latta finished as the runner-up.

The Silo Rebels are also a Top 10 team, currently sitting at No. 8. These are the only games this week for Silo.

Caddo faces two county teams as the Bruins host Rock Creek on Tuesday night and travel to Colbert on Friday.

The Lady Bruins are No. 5 in Class A , while the Bruins are ranked No. 4.

Calera is home for two doubleheaders, taking on Caney on Tuesday and Turner on Friday. The Lady Bulldogs are ranked No. 14 in Class 2A.

Other Tuesday matchups include: Milburn at Achille, Bennington at Stringtown, Durant at Ardmore (Boys only, girls’ game canceled due to COVID) and Victory Life at Wapanucka.

Durant will also host McAlester on Friday.
