OKLAHOMA CITY – It is just Wednesday and things can change in the next 24 hours, but as of this post (12:40 p.m.) the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association has put out this information on its website:
“The OSSAA has been in contact with the National Weather Service and at this time the predictions indicate travel will be possible in our State tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 22.
“The OSSAA has decided to delay the start time tomorrow of the Class “B” and Class “A” Area Tournaments, and the Class 2A, 3A, 4A Regional Tournaments to allow for more travel time to assigned sites. On Thursday, Feb. 22, game times for Class “B” and Class “A” Area Tournaments, and Class 2A, 3A, and 4A Regional Tournaments will be as follows: 3:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 6:30, p.m. and 8 p.m. There will only be one session on Thursday.
“Friday’s games will remain as scheduled on the original bracket. There will be no change to Class 5A and Class 6A. We will continue to monitor the weather and post any additional changes to the OSSAA.com website.”
This will affect the following games:
At Konawa
Silo vs. Okemah (Girls) – Now to start at 3:30 p.m.
Silo vs. Okemah (Boys) – Now to start at 5 pm.
At Rock Creek
Rock Creek vs. Wetumka (Girls) – Now to start at 3:30 p.m.
Rock Creek vs. Wetumka (Boys) – Now to start at 5 p.m.
And with no change to the Class 5A schedule (so far), Durant’s games this weekend will not be affected.
