The summer reading program at the Donald W. Reynolds Library involves not only reading, but also much more.
Staff from Workout Anytime recently made an appearance as a part of the program’s learning about space. They took part in astronaut training.
Robert Damron, program assistant at the library, talked about the kids’ experience.
“We had Astronaut Training with Workout Anytime come down and did some fitness exercises with the kids, some warmup exercises like a moon walk with resistance bands,” Damron said. “We also had them do some reflex skills tests.
“We also read during our story time about how astronauts stay fit in space. The kids really liked that. They always have fun coming up here to do activities at the library.”
It’s a part of the Summer Reading Program as one of our activities, in which the library has six classes going on this summer.
