Richard “Rick” Jones

Richard “Rick” Jones, a resident of Calera, Okla., left this life on January 27, 2022, at the age of 58. He was born in Jacksonville, Ark., on July 30, 1963.

Richard was a hardworking man who made his living in construction as a house framer. He graduated from Princeton High School in Princeton, Texas, where he played football, and his buddies called him “Big Cat”. Richard attended McMurry University in Abilene, Texas, for two years.

In his younger years, he was a little league football coach in Allen and Pottsboro. For which he won 6 championships and played in Cowboys stadium. He loved all of the kids. Richard enjoyed spending time with friends playing shuffleboard, watching a good game of football, and a relaxing day of fishing.

Mr. Jones is survived by his common law wife, Pamela Stanley of Calera, OK, father, Ross Jones of Calera, OK, sister, Teresa Malone of Seymour, TX, half-brother, Johnny Reed of Austin, TX, and stepsister Gidget Smith, of Leonard, TX.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by mother, Patsy; step mother, Wilma; and his grandmother, Imogene Daily.

Family hour will be from 7-8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 31, 2022 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel in Durant, Okla.

A funeral service in his honor will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022 at the Chapel with Bro John Breon officiating. His final resting place will be the Rosehill Cemetery in Calera, Okla. His pallbearers will be Kerry Cody, Jason Boyd, and Joel Andrews.

Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home at 121 N. Fifth Ave. in Durant.

    This blog appears to recieve a large ammount of visitors. How do you promote it? It gives a nice individual twist on things. I guess having something real or substantial to post about is the most important factor.
