Richard Lee Nichols

He attended school in Denison and Kemp, graduating from Kemp High School in May 1966. After high school graduation he enlisted in the Navy, serving for four years. He later joined the Army Reserve, serving as drill sergeant for many years before retiring. He married Sharia Ramey on January 19, 1973. They had one daughter, Kelli. Richard and Sharia enjoyed 48 years together prior to her passing in February 2021.

He was always there for anything she did, whether it be cheering at a football game, participating in a theatre performance, or competing in a livestock show. He was Mallory’s biggest fan and they had a very special relationship, which she will always treasure.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sharia, his parents Howard and Avis Nichols, and his brothers Eddie Nichols and Jack Nichols.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kelli Myracle and her husband Craig of Telephone, Texas; granddaughter, Mallory Myracle of Telephone, Texas; brothers, Bill Nichols of Calera, Okla., Chester Nichols and wife Joyce of Kemp, Okla., Joe Nichols and wife Dolly of Achille, Okla., and Jim Bob Nichols of Kemp, Okla.; a host of extended family and friends, along with special friends of many years, John Kilpatrick and Gary Williams, both of Durant, Okla.
