Oleta Smith

Oleta Louise Smith of Calera, Okla. passed away on March 9, 2020 in Colbert at the age of 83. She was born on November 9, 1936 in Caney, Okla. to John and Deenie Daily.

Oleta attended Post Oak School in Caney and stayed home to care for her family. She always loved listening to country music.

Preceding her in death are her parents John and Deenie Daily and sister, Myrna Gordon.

Survivors include her sons: Keith Emerson and wife Sandy of Calera, Okla., Doyne Emerson and wife Virginia of Denton, Texas; brother, Don Daily of Carrollton, Texas; grandchildren: Khayla O’Brien of Durant, Okla., Khara Emerson of Durant, Okla., Kimberly and Gary Neely of Coleman, Okla., and Justin Emerson of Denton, Texas; great-grandchildren: Hayden and Karter O’Brien of Durant, Okla., Alexia Peters of Durant, Okla., Darion, Loxi, and Garrett Neely of Coleman, Okla. along with nieces, nephews, other extended family members and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant with Chaplain Mike Moody officiating.

Services are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
