Mike Goodwin elected AFR/OFU Southeast Independent Director

NORMAN — American Farmers & Ranchers/Oklahoma Farmers Union (AFR/OFU) held officer and director elections at the 115th Annual AFR/OFU State Convention Feb. 14-16. Mike Goodwin, Roberta, was elected to a three-year term as the organization’s Southeast Independent Director.

“I welcome the opportunity to serve on the board of such a good company as AFR/OFU,” Goodwin said. “I look forward to supporting any vision that makes the organization better for members, customers, staff, agents, and our company as a whole.”

Goodwin has been an AFR/OFU member since 1988. He has a lengthy career as an educator, including stints as a high school instructor, a superintendent, and a Career Tech administrator. He was twice named the Bryan County Administrator of the Year. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 36 years. He is a lifelong resident of Bryan County.

AFR/OFU Cooperative is a membership services organization established in 1905 as Oklahoma Farmers Union. AFR/OFU provides educational, legislative and cooperative programs across the state and serves as a watchdog for Oklahoma’s family farmers and ranchers and rural communities. The organization is actively supportive of the state’s agricultural industry and rural population with membership consisting of farmers actively involved in production agriculture and non-farmers adding their voice in support of AFR/OFU principles.
