Melissa Streidl

The daughter of the late Jimmy Dion Renick and Linda (Banks) Renick, Melissa was born on November 25, 1969 in Ardmore, Okla., and passed away on January 14, 2023 at her Irving, Texas residence at the age of 53.

She and Patrick Cameron Streidl were married on July 1, 2011 in Dallas, Texas.

Missy grew up in Ardmore, Okla., and attended Springdale Elementary and Ardmore Middle School before graduating from Dickson High School in the class of 1988. A resident of the DFW area since the early ’90s, Missy lived in Irving, Texas since 2013. She was a retired Executive Assistant with Pioneer Natural Resources.

In her leisure time Missy enjoyed singing and knew the words to any song you asked her. She also enjoyed time with her family and friends, which almost always included Mexican food and margaritas. Missy had a passion for running in 5k runs and had numerous medals. She loved going to concerts and Dallas Cowboys football games.  She was also known for her kindness and her love of animals. She could never pass by a dog and not introduce herself. Going to the Dallas Zoo several times each month was her happy place. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Missy was also known for her strength, determination, and attitude. She began her battle with cancer in 2012 and fought hard for 11 years while never letting it take over her spirit. She always put others first and was always encouraging and uplifting others fighting their battle with cancer while fighting her own. She always gave while never expecting anything in return. She was a bright light to so many people and will continue to shine from above us all.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband, Patrick; son, Kyle Andrew Martich; step-daughter, Emily Streidl; mother, Linda Renick; sister, Kimberly Dula and her husband, James; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jock and Gigi Streidl; niece, Danielle Dula; nephew, Jeremy Dula and his wife Payton; many cousins and other extended family members; fur babies Chewie and Lucy (dogs) and Nike and Cleo (cats).
