Mary Etta Tadlock

Mary Etta (Heflin) Tadlock entered this life on Feb. 19, 1950 in Albany, Okla. to Perry F. and Theadora L. (Terrell) Heflin. Mary joined her Lord and Savior on May 3, 2021 at her home in Mead.

A lifelong resident of Bryan County, Mary graduated from Yuba High School and Southeastern Oklahoma State University receiving her bachelor’s degree in Education. Mary was an educator for Big Five Community Services and Silo schools for 36 years until her retirement.

Mary was a loyal and dedicated member of Mead Baptist Church and was the caretaker of Mead Cemetery for more than 30 years. She loved her flowers, playing practical jokes on people, shopping and was a collector of many things. Mary had a deep love for her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Theadora Heflin; husband, Joe Mitchell Hampton and brother Bobby Heflin

Mary is survived by her treasured daughter, Tina Bennett and husband Rex; adored granddaughters, Ariole Layton and husband Kyle and Josie Walls and husband K.C.; precious great-grandson, Treyden Layton; beloved siblings: Betty Potts and husband Bill Smith, Woody Heflin and wife Martha, Shirley Martin and husband Jim, Norman (Butch) Heflin and wife Sandy and Bonnie Rowland and husband Johnny, James Tadlock, Jimmy Phillips and numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral services to celebrate Mary’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2021 at Mead Baptist Church. Pastor Kerry Groce will officiate.

Interment will follow in Mead Cemetery with Kyle Layton, KC Walls, Weldon White, Robert White, Ronnie Phillips, Tim Potts and Woody Heflin serving as pallbearers.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.

    We are so sorry to hear of Mary’s passing. She loved our children like an aunt during their years at BIg Five Daycare. So hard to lose a parent.
