NORMAN — American Farmers & Ranchers/Oklahoma Farmers Union (AFR/OFU) held officer and director elections at the 116th Annual AFR/OFU State Convention Feb. 12-13. Landon Jestis, Bokchito, was elected to a three-year term as the organization’s Southeast Agent Director.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to serve on the AFR/OFU board of directors,” Jestis said. “I believe AFR/OFU is the best company in the state of Oklahoma and I’m excited to be a part of advancing our company into the future.”
Jestis owns and operates the successful Jestis Insurance Agency in Durant. He has a long career in the insurance industry, including stints as an independent adjuster, a property claims adjuster, and now as an agency owner. His knowledge of both the insurance industry and Oklahoma agriculture make him an ideal member of the AFR/OFU Board of Directors.
AFR/OFU Cooperative is a membership services organization established in 1905 as Oklahoma Farmers Union. AFR/OFU provides educational, legislative and cooperative programs across the state and serves as a watchdog for Oklahoma’s family farmers and ranchers and rural communities. The organization is actively supportive of the state’s agricultural industry and rural population with membership consisting of farmers actively involved in production agriculture and non-farmers adding their voice in support of AFR/OFU principles.
