Joann Robinson

Joann Robinson passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019 at the age of 81, just shy of her 82 birthday. Joann was born to Pete William Vietta and Emma Elizabeth (Vegher) Vietta on January 18, 1937. Joann married her husband Joe Robinson on Aug. 11, 1959 where they then went on to raise a family with three children.

Joann was a lively spirit that loved her family. She worked at Branding Iron for more than 10 years doing food prep and was a long-time homemaker. Joann was a volunteer at the Durant Nutrition Center five days a week. She attended the 1st Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed picking out pecans by the pounds, embroidering, and dancing every chance she could. She was a woman that could get feisty one minute, but love you the next. She really enjoyed watching her grandkids growing and playing their sports. She truly enjoyed getting together with big family gatherings at her parents’ house as they grew older.

Joann Robinson is survived by her children; Sons:William Robinson and wife Cheryl of Sugar Land, Texas, Louis Robinson and Cathy of Blanchard, Okla.; and Daughter: Emma Prince of Silo, Okla. Grandsons: Jimmy Joefield Prince and wife Callie of Fort Worth, Texas, Cody Robinson of Sugar Land, Texas, Zachary Robinson of Tulsa, Okla. and Garrett Robinson of Blanchard, Okla. Granddaughters: Courtney Robinson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Kelli Robinson of Sugar Land, Texas. Great-granddaughters: Adlynn Prince, Remington Robinson, and Lakyn Prince. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews along with wonderful friends.

Joann is proceeded in death by her parents, Pete William Vietta and Emma Elizabeth (Vegher) Vietta. Husband, Joe Robinson. Along with eight brothers and one sister.

Family visitation and viewing for Joann Robinson will the 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019 at Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2019 at Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla. with Tommy Rowland officiating.

Internment will be at Highland Cemetery with Floyd Appleton, Larry Brandon, Garrett Robinson, Zachary Robinson, Cody Robinson and Donald Robinson serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
