James Airington

James Garland Airington passed from this life on Thursday, January 6, 2022, in Durant, Okla. at the age of 68. He was born on March 30, 1953, in Woodward, Okla. to Clarence Robert and Mattie Agnes (Lee) Airington.

He married the love of his life, Patsy Walker, on March 25, 1975, in Sherman, Texas.

James was an over-the-road truck driver. He received numerous driver of the year awards for driving a million miles in the course of one year accident free. James enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family and friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his kids and grandchildren. Any time they were able to spend time together, James was the happiest.

Left behind to cherish her memories are his loving wife Patsy, of the home; his two daughters, Amy and husband Scott Anderson of Mooreland, Okla., Melissa and husband Chris Jefferson of Durant, Okla. and son Bobby Airington and wife Alicia of Durant, Okla.; his grandsons: Austin and wife Felicia Anderson of Mooreland, Okla., Tyler Anderson of Mooreland, Okla., Augustus Airington of Durant, Okla., and one granddaughter, Marissa Anderson of Mooreland, Okla.; great-grandchildren include: Brian Anderson and Brooklee Anderson both of Mooreland, Okla., along with his brothers Bobby Airington and wife Rita of Woodward, Okla., Johnny Airington and wife Wilma of Woodward, Okla., one sister Carolyn Bates of Durant, Okla. and their aunt, Myrtle Holdaway of Amarillo, Texas.

Preceding James in death are his parents Clarence and Agnes; sister, Colleen Adams Harper; grandparents, Rufus and Lillie (Manus) Airington; in-laws, Roy Lee and Doris (White) Walker; special aunt and uncle Ida Jane and Jimmy Lee; nephew, Rob Douglas and his niece, Susan Adams McCarty.

Family hour will be held on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, from 3-4 p.m. at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Bro. Anthony Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Restland Cemetery in Boswell, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Airington, Scott Anderson, Austin Anderson, Chris Jefferson, Tyler Anderson, Brayden Bentley, and honorary pallbearer will be Brian Anderson.
