George Thomas Crofford Jr, 81, passed away on Oct. 30, 2020. George was born on July 3, 1939, in Jefferson County, Ark. to George Thomas Crofford Sr. and Flora (Elkins) Crofford.
George attended White Hall High School in White Hall, Ark., and Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Okla. George married Justine Powell in Durant, Okla. on December 15, 1961.
He was a member of Heritage Nazarene Church in Sherman, Texas. He enjoyed fishing and carpentry. He proudly served his country in the Air Force for 20 years and received many commendations.
George is preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Flora Crofford; and Elaine Weast, Bennie Crofford, Claude Crofford and Nancy Crofford.
He is survived by his wife, Justine (Powell) Crofford of the home; brothers, Danny Crofford and wife Kim of Pine Bluff, Ark., Mike Crofford and wife Sandra of Star City, Ark.; daughters, Debbie Verran and husband Roy of Calera, Okla., Jennifer Wheeler and husband Jerry of Sherman, Texas; granddaughter, Hannah Ritchie and husband Chris of Madill, Okla.; grandson, Ronnie Verran of Madill, Okla.; granddaughter, Isabelle Wheeler of Sherman, Texas and grandson, Ben Wheeler of Sherman, Texas.
Funeral services with honors are scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at 10 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant, Okla.
