DURANT – The Durant Independent School District held a meeting on Monday to discuss preparation for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Among recommendations for personnel changes across the district was the hiring of Joseph (J.W.) Parsons to fill the head baseball coach position at Durant High School. Coach Parson has been an assistant baseball coach and science teacher at the high school.
The board approved other personnel and financial recommendations for the district in the afternoon session.

I hope by financial recommendations they mean 4 or 5 assistants for him. We’re the only 5A school out there without 5 assistants. Or at least I should say if programs that want to win!!! Let’s make this work!!
