BROKEN BOW, Okla. – The Choctaw Nation Ruby Choate Health Clinic in Broken Bow, Okla. celebrated its reopening following a substantial expansion of services, enhanced hours, and updated facilities designed to meet the needs of the community.

The clinic will now offer expanded diagnostic and support services such as an on-site laboratory and x-ray capabilities, enabling faster results and fewer referrals. It will also have increased provider availability with more physicians and mid-level providers ensuring more appointment times and a broader range of care. Extended clinic hours will accommodate working adults, families and community members’ needs. The clinic is open to Choctaw Nation associates and all community members.

“Improving healthcare access in communities like Broken Bow is a top priority,” said Gary Batton, Chief of the Choctaw Nation. “By expanding services, adding diagnostic capabilities, and extending hours, we are building a stronger foundation for wellness – right here in McCurtain County.

During the recent ribbon cutting ceremony, the president of Shimadzu, Ted Goto, the manufacturer of the clinic’s new x-ray technology, was in attendance along with several Shimadzu executives. In keeping with Japanese tradition, Goto presented Chief Batton with a gift of a broken bowl repaired with gold. Chief Batton returned the gesture with a Choctaw Nation medallion for Goto.

The clinic, located at 1300 E. Martin Luther King Dr., is open Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering same-day, non-emergency services such as cuts or abrasions requiring stitches, testing and treatment for the flu, seasonal allergies, UTIs, sprains and strains and other non-emergent care. Patients should go to the nearest emergency room for chest pain, possible strokes, bone breaks, possible drug overdoses, and other severe injuries.
