Allan Boyd

Allan “AB” “Cowpatty” Ross Boyd, 76, passed away peacefully at his home where he and his love resided on June 16, 2023. AB was born on June 19, 1946, in Weatherford, Texas to Durl and Anita Boyd.

He attended grade school in Weatherford and graduated from high school at Bokchito in 1965. He married the love of his life Debra Boyd on Valentine’s Day 1987 and they raised four beautiful children. AB loved his family and being a cowboy, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a Christian man and was a member of Victory Life Church. He enjoyed goofin with his buddy Cotton, coffee and conversations at Tony’s, Wrights Drive-In Burgers, and shooting the bull with just about anyone. He enjoyed life “The Cowboy Way.”

AB is preceded in death by his wife, Debra Boyd; daughter, Cedar Flowers and parents, Anita and Durl Boyd.

Left to cherish his memories and share his legacy are his daughter, Jennifer Davis and husband Matt of Durant, Okla.; son, Jason Boyd of Caddo, Okla.; daughter, Taylor Andrews and husband Jarren of Bokchito, Okla.; sister, Linda Maxey and husband Roger of Blue, Okla.; brother, Dennis Boyd and wife Sherlyn of Bokchito, Okla.; six grandchildren: Kayleigh Harwood, Mason Davis, Makenzie Boyd, Tylar Harwood, Raelee Andrews and Case Bussey.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Victory Life Church with Tim McIntire to officiate, with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery of Durant.

Serving as pallbearers are Cotton Rogers, Rich Makkey, Jason Boyd, Bart Russell, Josh Redwine, Raymond Faull. Honorary Pallbearers are Wendall Risner, Jim Adair, Jarren Andrews, Dennis Boyd, Matt Davis, Roger Maxey, William Hughes, and Bobby Dobbins.

A visitation is set for 6-8 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Brown’s Funeral Service of Durant.
