Alan Davenport

Alan Davenport, 52, of Bennington, was born Friday, September 20, 1968 in Dayton, Texas to Billy Joe Davenport and Juanita Merle (McDonald) Davenport. He departed this life on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021 in Denison, Texas.

Bubba, known by family and friends, is a graduate of Hartshorne High School in Hartshorne, Okla. After graduation, he attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant for three years. Bubba married Brenda Henk on April 30, 1991 in Durant, Okla. They have lived in Bennington the past 20 years. Bubba was an evangelist and traveled from California to all over the United States and then to Africa preaching the Word of God.

Bubba enjoyed mowing his yard, playing the piano, singing and studying the Bible.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Joe and Juanita Davenport; mother-in-law, Rosalie Pruitt; step-father-in-law, Ernie Pruitt; and father-in-law, Francis Fred Henk.

Bubba is survived by his wife, Brenda, of the Bennington home; son, Jesse Henk and his fiancé, Tammy, of Bokchito; daughter, Destiny “stinker winker” Davenport of Bennington; sisters, Nita Ford, and Vicky Davenport both of Bokchito; two grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and five great-nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11, at Brown’s Funeral Home Chapel in Durant with Rev. Roger Lane officiating and Rev. David Flannery assisting. Bubba will be laid to rest at Soper Cemetery in Soper, Okla. Casket bearers will be Ricky Chappell, Chuck Jones, Michael Black, Jesse Henk, Destiny Davenport and James Brantley.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Sept. 10, from 6-8 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Home in Durant.
