Coleman Gene Houser, age 76, a lifelong Atoka and Caney, Okla. resident, was born on Monday, May 3, 1943, to Issac Coleman and Dorothy Faye (Phillip) Houser, at Atoka County, Okla. Coleman passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Denison, Texas.
He attended Post Oak and graduated from Caney High School. Coleman worked for Dallas Power and Light, owned his own mechanic shop, dozer operator more than 20 years for Stuart Ranches and other people, number of years for Cochran Equipment. Coleman proudly served his country in the Army and was stationed in Korea. He married Delcine (Meals) on Friday, Dec. 7, 1972 at Durant, Okla. They enjoyed 46 years of marriage. Coleman was of the baptist faith. He was baptized at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, was a life member of American Quarter Horse Association, loved riding horses, mechanics, and running dozers.
Coleman is survived by his wife, Delcine Houser of the home in Caney, Okla.; children, Regina Nelson and husband Donnie of Grapevine, Texas, Justin Houser and wife Amanda of Caddo, Okla., Teresa Keirsey and husband Todd of Mead, Okla.; grandchildren, Chelsea Thompson of Grapevine, Texas, Madeleine Armstrong of Austin, Texas, Cormac Armstrong of Grapevine, Texas, Mason Keirsey of Durant, Okla., Tyler Houser of Caddo, Okla., Taryn Keirsey of Mead, Okla., Nathan Houser of Caddo, Okla.; great grandchild, McKenna Thompson; sister, Frances Hammonds of Caddo, Okla.; uncle, Dude Phillips of Caddo, Okla.; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Coleman is preceded in death by his parents, Issac Coleman and Dorothy Faye (Phillip) Houser; sister, Dequeta Faye Houser; brother, Kenneth Houser; brother-in-law, Hayes Hammonds.
Family night is scheduled for Monday, May 27, from 6-8 p.m. A service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28 at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka. Rev. Jeremy Parham will officiate. Interment will be at Caddo Cemetery in Caddo, Okla.
Services are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service in Atoka.
