Clint Daniel “Chip” Dilling of Mead, Oklahoma, passed from this life on October 8, 2026. Chip was born on December 1, 1973, in Rolla, Missouri to Rodney Darrell Dilling and Sharon Ann (Curtis) Dilling.
As a coaches kid, Chip attended many schools, in many towns growing up. His bigger than life personality and witty humor made him fast friends with many. He attended Glenpool High School, Rio Hondo High School, and finished his high school career graduating from Caddo High School. Chip came to Bryan County from Rio Hondo, Texas after his father took a position as the head football coach of the Caddo High School Bruins.
Chip attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he shined as an on air radio personality for the university radio station. Chip enjoyed keeping up with Oklahoma High School football and could give you a solid breakdown on just about any high school team in the state, including their mascot and any notable players. Chip was a lifelong fan of the Sooners… (BOOMER!). He also enjoyed watching and talking about Star Wars, and had a YouTube channel he enjoyed creating. He enjoyed watching sports, gaming, and spending time with his spouse, Vonna Loper.
In 2011 and again in 2014, Chip gained one of his favorite titles, “Uncle.” Chip was the epitome of a “Funcle”, being the giver of the wildest gifts, and taking great pride in introducing his nieces to the Star Wars franchise. He became well versed in both swimming and ballet to keep up with his nieces interests.
There was a genuine kindness that radiated from him towards anything he set his mind to do. Chip did not know how to do anything halfway.
Chip is preceded in death by his parents; Rodney “Rod” Dilling and Sharon Dilling.
Chip is survived by Vonna Loper of Mead, Oklahoma, his sister; Elizabeth “Beth” Courter (who Chip called “The Beast”) and her husband Scott of Montrose, Colorado, and nieces; Ella Courter and Sadie Courter of Montrose, Colorado.
The family asks everyone wears gameday apparel such as OU apparel, Bruins, or any other school apparel. Star Wars apparel is also highly encouraged.
A Celebration of Life to honor Chip will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant, Okla.
