Bruce Clayton Moore

Bruce Clayton Moore, 46, of Durant, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. He was born on Tuesday, July 31, 1979, at Choctaw Nation Hospital in Talihina, Oklahoma, and grew up in Atoka County and the surrounding areas.

Bruce dedicated his life to his family, friends, and his work. He is survived by his beloved son, Markus Klayton Moore, and his mother, Patsy Moore, step-mother Delana Moore, his brothers, Chris Moore, Randall Patterson, and Fred Patterson, and his sister, Irene Moore. Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel J Moore Jr., and his sister, Toni Moore, along with his grandparents: Gladys Muncrief, Charlie Muncrief, Nathaniel Moore Sr., and Evelyn Moore. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Professionally, Bruce was passionate about technology and education. Throughout his career, he explored various endeavors before ultimately finding his true calling as a computer science teacher at Kiamichi Tech in Durant. This passion technology was fostered early on by his uncle Donnie who provided him with his first computer. In his role as an educator, he inspired his students and took great pride in their achievements, often supporting them even after graduation.

In his free time, Bruce loved fishing, gaming, and watching most movies and/or television series. He often enjoyed these hobbies with friends and family. He was an avid participant in school events and often lent a hand at activities such as cookouts and celebrations. Most importantly, he cherished spending quality time with his son, Markus.

A memorial service will be held on July 31, 2026, from 1-3 p.m. at the Choctaw Nation Community Center, located at 1625 West Liberty Road, in Atoka, Oklahoma. There will be no funeral or graveside service.
