Borderline Boxing Club to host the Red River Rumble

DURANT – The Borderline Boxing Club is presenting an officially sanctioned USA Boxing amateur event which will feature fighters from across Oklahoma and Texas battling for state pride on one night.

Elite local and regional talent will be on hand in Durant for boxing action in a family-friendly environment.

Jaime Juarez is the owner of Borderline Boxing Club and said he is excited for the event.

“We’ve got about 25 fights and there are local athletes and they will be Oklahoma vs. Texas heads up,” Juarez said. “We’ll be putting on a show. We have a lot of top amateurs from the Texoma region.”

The Red River Rumble will take place at the Durant Multi-Sports Complex in the center of the football field. Gates are set open at 4 p.m. and the first bout starts at 5 p.m. The Multi-Sports Complex is located at 1920 State Highway 78 in Durant.

General admission is $20 for adults and children under 5-years-old get in free. Floor seats are $50 and ringside tables are $500. Food and merchandise will also be sold.

“Camino de Guanajuato will be providing food for the event,” Juarez said. “Lemongrass Roots will have lemonades, dirty sodas, things of that nature and Red Barn will have a beer garden for us.”

Juarez welcomed the public to come out and be a part.

“We just want as much support as we can get for our fighters. They’ve been putting in a lot of hard work – months and months of training – and we’re ready to show off their experience.”
