John William Lewis Wesner

John William Lewis Wesner departed this life far too soon at the age of 48. John was born on Tuesday, June 6, 1978 in Bisbee, Arizona to Donavan Allen Wesner and Virginia Celeste (Lewis) Wesner. John passed from this life on Friday, June 26, 2026 in Durant.

John and his family came to Bennington in 1984 where he would graduate high school. After high school, he attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University earning a degree in Mathematics. John spent the past five years employed at the Choctaw Casino in Durant. He loved to play Pathfinder and DND with his friends and family.

John was preceded in death by his older brother, Colorado Wesner; grandparents, James and Barbara Wesner, and June Sleeper; and an uncle, Steve Wesner.

He is survived by his loving mother, Virginia Wesner of Durant; his father, Donavan Wesner of Durant; a brother, Nevada Wesner and his wife, Caroline of Mons, Belgium; sister, Tamara Burns of Durant; niece, Emily Converse and husband, Matt of Calera; nephews, Coby Buck and Timothy Buck, both of Durant; great nephew, Mason Converse of Calera; aunt, Jamie Clement and husband, Steve of Pawhuska; and uncle, Mike Wesner and his wife, Polly of Tucson, Arizona.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026 in Brown’s Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Jacob Toews officiating.

John’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, at Brown’s Funeral Home.
