Ruby “Tootie” Jeffress of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026 at the age of 84. She was born on Sunday, June 15, 1941 in Utica, Oklahoma to Sylvia Amanda Jane (Quarles) and Forest Francis Jackson.
Ruby was one of a kind — funny, bold, and completely unforgettable. You never quite knew what was going to come out of her mouth at any given moment, but you could be sure it would make you laugh or leave you shaking your head.
Every Friday without fail, you could find her at the beauty shop, making sure that bright red hair was teased as high as the heavens. She loved a good jumpsuit, a pair of high heels, and stepping out like she had somewhere important to be.
Ruby Red enjoyed a good honky tonk, a little whiskey now and again, and living life in her own unforgettable way. She also enjoyed dancing, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Her husband was her best friend, and she loved him dearly. After losing him, a piece of her sparkle dimmed, and she was never quite the same. We find comfort knowing she is finally at peace, reunited in a long-awaited embrace with her husband and son.
She was preceded in death by her parents Sylvia Amanda Jane (Quarles) and Forest Francis Jackson; husband Bobby Ray Jeffress; son Rocky Jim Oliver; brothers Jim Bob Jackson, and Ruben “Bill” Jackson.
Survivors include her daughter Valarie Robison and husband Andy of Bennington, Oklahoma; grandchildren Hillary Brown and husband Tracy of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Tad Holt and wife McKenzie of Sherman, Texas, Keaton Robison and wife Jayci of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Karlee Robison and boyfriend Alex of Gordonville, Texas, Kassie Apple and husband Jackson of Norman, Oklahoma; great grandchildren Jagger Moody, Collins Moody, Juniper Brown, Elsie Holt, Kashten Barlow, Avery Robison, Novah Gregory, Allie Patton, Walker Apple; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, other extended family and friends.
Rest now, Mama. Until I see you again.
