A pedestrian was killed on Friday night in Mead on Friday evening.
Gavin Magnuson, 21, of Kingston, was driving a 2017 Ford Fiesta eastbound on U.S. Highway 70 near the intersection of Ranchette Road, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Paul Snyder, 64, of Mead, was walking south across the highway and was struck by the vehicle. Magnuson’s vehicle then swerved into the westbound lanes, striking a second vehicle, a2021 Chrysler Pacifica, driven by Glen Kinyon, 58, of Mead. The Ford Fiesta left the roadway and rolled approximately half a rotation, coming to a rest on it’s top.
Snyder was pronounced dead at the scene.
Magnuson was transported to AllianceHealth in Durant with minor injuries. Neither Kinyon, nor the three passengers in his vehicle sustained injuries.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation, according to the report.
