Victoria Lora (Acklin) Moskwa was born on Saturday, February 12, 1949 in Hamlin, Texas to Isaac Dreaden Acklin and Nellie Ione (Watts) Acklin. Victoria passed from this life on Monday, December 23, 2024 at the age of 75.
Victoria came to Durant in July 2014 from Dallas, Texas. She married William Moskwa on July 4, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Victoria worked as a cosmetologist prior to retirement. She was associated with various camera clubs and loved photography and photographic art, and birdwatching. Victoria was always interested and loved listening to others. She would want her sister to take videos of how she was decorating or wanted her to take pictures of flowers. She loved nature dearly. Victoria is a member of the First Baptist Church, and enjoyed being with her friends and felt they were a God send. She also enjoyed donating her time to many activities within the church.
Victoria was a strong woman who enjoyed taking care of others. She was a Nanny for several years before she met William and kept many of those families as friends for life.
She was an avid photo geek and enjoyed taking pictures almost as much as artistically playing with them. She attended several classes in Dallas and with photo clubs to develop her skills with Photo Shop, Lightroom and Topaz software. Several of her friends were developed around photography.
Victoria had three children: two boys and a girl. Her oldest son, Steven, passed away from Covid19 complications about two years ago. Losing a child is very difficult to overcome and I believe that it affected her through the end of her life. He had a son, one of her grandsons. She had three grandchildren from her other son, Jaysen. She had four grandchildren from her daughter. They were all her pride and joy that she supported in life to her fullest ability. She loved being with them as much as possible.
Victoria also enjoyed traveling and could not get enough. She would stay home only when she couldn’t go somewhere. She had visited San Francisco, New York City, England, Bahamas, several Gulf beaches, and her relatives in several states. Visiting her relatives and grandchildren was by far, her greatest joy that she just couldn’t do enough.
She enjoyed bird watching and would often go to places like Eisenhower State Park where she could see lots of wildlife and photograph it. She would take her dog Ozzie, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel; the love of her life, with her as well as any other place she could like Walmart and Dollar General. He was with her almost 24/7.
Victoria was preceded in death by her son, Steven Warner; brothers Rick Acklin and Wesley Acklin; and a sister Paula Lister.
She leaves behind her loving family: husband, William Moskwa of Durant; daughter, Emily Emmet and her husband, David of Grapevine, Texas; son, Jaysen Warner and his wife, Karen of Swansboro, North Carolina; brothers, Billy Acklin and his wife, Faye of Seville, South Carolina, and Mike Acklin and his wife, Donna of San Angelo, Texas; sister, Lana Adams and her husband, Mike of Albany, Georgia; and eight grandchildren who she cherished very much.
Services to celebrate Victoria’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Garry McNeill officiating.
