Delores Jean Farrell peacefully left her earthly home and entered her eternal resting place on July 31, 2026, at 11:56 p.m.
Jean was born on March 1, 1941, in Honey Grove, Texas, to Benjamin Franklin “Ben” Sutton and Frances Scroggins Sutton. She was raised in Honey Grove and graduated from Honey Grove High School in 1960. After graduation, she moved to Richardson, Texas, where she began building the life that would become her legacy.
In April 1963, Jean began working for Southwestern Bell, where she devoted more than 35 years of service before retiring in 1998.
On September 11, 1965, she married the love of her life, Clarence “Shorty” “Snookie” Farrell, in Durant, Oklahoma. Together, Jean and Shorty built a life centered on faith, love, and family. They raised their sons, Todd and Guy, in Oak Cliff, Texas, before moving to Mead, Oklahoma, in 1997.
Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was known for her strength, kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her home was always a place of love, laughter, comfort, and acceptance, and her memory will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin “Ben” Sutton and Frances Scroggins Sutton; her beloved husband, Clarence “Shorty” “Snookie” Farrell; her son, Todd Farrell; her great-grandson, Madden Armani Henderson; and her nephew, Tracey Dale Sutton.
Jean is survived by her son, Guy Farrell, and his wife, Amy, of the family home; granddaughters: Brandi Farrell and fiancée Ally Freer of San Antonio, Texas, Brianna Farrell and Jalen Thompson of Mead, Oklahoma, and Peyton Farrell and fiancée Harleigh Caruthers of Durant, Oklahoma; grandsons: Justyn Gomez and wife, Arix of Venus, Texas and Blake Stuckey of Stuart, Florida; great-granddaughter Willow Stuckey; her soon-to-arrive great-granddaughter, Remi Jean Thompson; great-grandson Orion Gomez; sisters Mary Ann Allen of Allen, Texas, and Bennie Sue Almand and husband Jim of Powderly, Texas; brothers Billy Wayne Sutton of Telephone, Texas and Roy Don Sutton and wife, Elaine of Whitesboro, Texas, nieces Cindy Barter, Denise Gannon and husband Bud, Heather Sutton and Brent, Kristi Winningham and husband Dewayne, and Michelle Hirschenhofer and husband Adam; nephews, Jerry Junior and wife Judy, Will Harlan and wife Megann, Joe Harlan, Chance McDonald and husband Hao, Josh McDonald, and Christopher George and wife Laith; along with numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, dear friends and her grand-dog Daisy Mae.
Although Jean’s earthly journey has ended, her love, wisdom, strength, and devotion will live on through the family she cherished so deeply. Those who knew and loved her take comfort in knowing that she has found eternal peace and has been joyfully reunited with those who went before her.
Family and friends are invited to attend a family viewing from 12-2 p.m. on August 7, 2026, followed by funeral services immediately after. Services will be held at Brown’s Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma with her final resting place at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma.
