DURANT – The Oklahoma Theta chapter of the Alpha Chi honor society at Southeastern Oklahoma State University inducted 13 new members and installed one new officer in a ceremony on Sunday evening.
Alpha Chi is an interdisciplinary honor society which offers membership to the top 10% of juniors and seniors at Southeastern. Dr. Jennifer Hicks and Dr. Meg Cotter-Lynch are the faculty advisors for the Oklahoma Theta chapter.
Addison McCortney was installed as the Secretary/Treasurer for the 2024-25 academic year. Other officers previously installed include:
- President Alex Robinson, a senior Management Major-Minor
- Historian Kayla Strong, a senior Sociology Major
New inductees to Alpha Chi in the Oklahoma Theta chapter are:
- Calvin Alford, a senior Criminal Justice major from Red Oak
- Kiela Berryhill, a senior Criminal Justice major from Calera
- Ashton Brooks, a senior Liberal and Applied Studies major from Sherman, Texas
- Laura Gooch, a senior Early Intervention & Child Development major from Oklahoma City
- Brad Hamilton, a graduate student in the Organizational Management and Leadership Program from Madill
- Misty Elaine Harman, a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program from Sherman, Texas
- Abigail Hawkins, a senior Chemistry major from Kingston
- Laura McCracken, a graduate student in the Organizational Management and Leadership Program from Moore
- Karson McKnight, a senior Recreation Sports Management major from Roxton, Texas
- Andrea Means, a graduate student in the School Counseling Program from Denison, Texas
