Sandra Kay Castleberry, 73, a resident of Bokchito, Okla., went to join her Lord and Savior in Calera, Okla. on June 3, 2024. Kay was born in Durant, Okla., on August 29, 1950, to Orbin L. and Irene (Garman) Bailey.
Kay graduated from Bokchito High School in May 1968. She married James A. Castleberry in 1974. She believed in Jesus Christ and was of the Baptist faith and a member of Big Creek Family Worship Center in Bokchito, Okla.
She was a master at leather craft. She enjoyed many outdoor activities, including arrowhead and rock collecting and had a great love for her dog Sugar Bear.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orbin and Irene Bailey; aunts and uncles, Clydia German, Jesse Bailey, Viola Cox, Arthur Bailey; cousins: Russell German, Travis German, Doris Ralston, Charles Cox, Winnie Burns, and Curtis Bailey.
Survivors include her daughter, Lacy Jean Castleberry-Hunt and special son-in-law, Lucas Hunt both of Albany, Okla.; sister, Leigh Ora Keeling and husband Kenneth of Durant, Okla.; niece, Jennie Newsome and husband Thomas of McKinney, Texas; cousins: Fran Mickle of Durant, Okla., Jesse Bailey of Lawton, Okla., David Ralston of Clayton, Okla., Barbara Wieder of Bedford, Texas, Jimmy Cox of Hurst, Texas, Ricky, Ronnie and Patsy Cox of Walnut Springs, Texas, Peggy McGlashan of Joshua, Texas, Cathy Cook of Norman, Okla., Romona German and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Big Creek Family Worship Center with Brother Ross Phillips officiating.
