Ricky Dale Milner of Caddo, Okla., passed from this life on Friday, February 23, 2024 at the age of 53. He was born on Tuesday, August 25, 1970 in Sherman, Texas to Wesley Lynn Milner and Sandra Lee (Lockler) Weber. He married Trisha Rayleen (Kindred) Milner on October 7, 2000 in the small community of Jumbo, Okla.
Rick grew up in the Tom Bean/Howe area of Grayson County and attended school in both Denison and Sherman, Texas. After leaving school, Rick lived for a time working the cattle ranches of West Texas and the Panhandle. This time began a lifelong love of bronc horses, rodeo, leather work and high top boots.
He later paid his way through a Texas Police Academy in the early 1990’s, by working in mall security. Rick attended both electrical lineman and railroad conductor certification training, and worked some, during his 30’s and 40’s, in those industries. However, his call to the public service of law enforcement was always where he returned. During his career, Rick served at the Grayson Co, Fannin Co and Bryan Co Sheriff’s departments as well as local agencies including Bells, Honey Grove and Trenton, Texas, SOSU Campus Police, MCSO security and Achille, OK PD.
In addition to his grandchildren, he enjoyed leather work, firearms, cooking and building both model trains and model cars. On holidays and weekends you could find him either working or bringing a pan full of meat to a family event. His specialties were smoked beef brisket and slow cooked little smokies in grape jelly. There are many people in Texoma who would say he saved them from accidents and bad decisions which varied from locking their keys in their cars to cardiac arrest.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Lynn Milner; mother, Sandra Lee (Lockler) Weber; stepfather, Ken Weber; grandparent,s Robert and Wynema Pruiett Lockler, William (Bill) and Juanita Randolph Milner.
