Gwendolyn Kay Collins was born on January 19, 1947, in Stuart, Okla., to Ray Leon and Lydia (Cook) Cummins. Kay passed from this life on January 30, 2023, in Wapanucka, Okla., at the age of 76. Kay attended Coalgate High School and later married Harold Dee Collins and they were united in marriage until Harold’s passing on January 15, 2016. Kay worked as a CNA until her retirement. Kay deeply loved her family, especially her babies and she loved to sing.
Kay was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Dale Cummins; sister, Joy Cummins and brother in law, Bill Welch.
Kay is survived by her children, Leon Collins of Caddo, Shellie Collins of Caddo, Tonya Davenport and husband Robert of Caddo and Tracey Posey and husband Larry of Wapanucka; siblings, Norman Cummins, Glenda Fisher and husband Leroy, Gloria Welch, Randy Cummins and wife Shirley, Newanna Dennett and husband Lloyd Harrison, Cherie Richardson and husband Kenny and Rita Taylor and husband Frank; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services were held on February 5, 2023 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Pastor Earl White officiated with Leon Collins, Oscar Torres, Robbie Davenport, Dillon Posey, Brian Posey and Robert Davenport serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers: Zach Mitchell, Gary Davenport, and Eduardo Herrera.
