DURANT – The Donald W. Reynolds Library and Community Center will host the AARP Tax Aid Program on Tuesdays and Thursdays from February 2 to April 13.
This service is free and open to the public, with no restrictions on income or age.
“This is a great partnership for the library as it meets a need in our community while bringing new patrons into the facility,” said Library Director Robbee Tonubbee.
No appointment is necessary to utilize the service, which will be held in the library’s theater. Walk-ins are welcome from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday for the duration of the program.
“Most people are thankful for this service and many are return customers, coming back yearly to get help with what can be a confusing, overwhelming task,” Tonubbee said.
AARP’s volunteers are trained by the IRS and will be assisted by volunteers from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
