Barbara “Bobbie” Ann McKee, 76, was born on November 17, 1946, in Talihina, Okla., the daughter of Preston Lee Lawrence and Mary Francis (Billy) Lawrence.
Bobbie raised her family in Paris, Texas, where she was employed at Westinghouse for more than 20 years. She had made her home in Hugo more than 30 years ago. She was a member of the Choctaw Nation and enjoyed Choctaw singing. Bobbie was a devoted Christian and a member of the Soper Assembly of God and the Women’s Ministry.
She was very outgoing, adventurous and outspoken and had a fierce love for her family, some of her favorite times were spent on her “sister trips” and attending her grand children’s activities. Bobbie loved yard sales and was a people person, she was always running into someone she knew. Bobbie enjoyed blessing those around her and always won when it came to taking care of paying for something. She was fearless, tenacious, and family focused and has left a huge void in the lives of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marcus “Moose” McKee, brothers, Preston “Sonny” Lawrence, sisters, Sharon Davis and Billie Strickland.
Bobbie is survived by daughters, Salena Cigan (James) of The Colony, Texas, and Lahoma Hines (Glenn) of Soper, Okla.; grandchildren: Lance Sparks, Brittany Shelhorse (Rick), Heather Ellis (Jerren) and Courtney Garrett (Matt); great-grandchildren: Sydni and Logan Sparks, Giovanna Sparks, Tristan, Aidan, Rylee and Blaize Shelhorse, Acelee and Jayde Ellis, Preston, Payton, Shayna and Landon Garrett; sisters Linda Taylor of Soper, Okla., and Lenora Jackson of Hugo, Okla.; brother, Raymond Tom of Hugo, Okla., along with a host of family, friends and loved ones.
A funeral service in her honor will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 23, 2022, at the Miller and Miller Funeral Home.
