Lois Marie Terrell

Lois Marie Pruitt Terrell was born in Giddings, Texas on December 30, 1927, to Claude Oscar Pruitt and Anna Iona (Eiland) Pruitt. She who passed away on October 29, 2022. Lois married Ray Terrell on June 20, 1954, in Bokchito, Okla. They shared 65 years of marriage.

Lois graduated from Missouri City, Texas in 1945. Coming from a harmoniously talented family, her roots led her to pursue her God-given gifts in music. In her younger years, she attended the Stamps Quartet Music School in Dallas, Texas. She also attended Bible college in Baxter Springs, Kansas. While in college, Lois took private lessons in piano and sang in the campus choir. Later in life, she attended SOSU in Durant, Okla. Lois was a substitute teacher for several years for Bokchito schools. She taught private lessons in piano for 35 years. She was the church pianist and sang in the choir for Abundant Life Texoma for many years. Lois also had a heart for volunteering at Abundant Life Texoma.

,Survivors include her son Terry Ray Terrell and his fiancé Vonda Mathews of Hendrix, Okla.; daughter, Marilyn Marie Dill and her husband Steve of Bokchito, Okla.; granddaughters: Karale Young and husband Joshua of Lake Charles, La., Mandy Marie Callaway and husband Brent of Poteau, Okla., Taylor Shipp and husband Justin of Kemp, Okla.; grandsons: Travis Dill and wife Charlee of Roberta, Okla., and Colt Terrell of Kemp, Okla.; great-grandchildren: Rosy, Henry and Piper Young of Lake Charles, La., Huck and Maylee Callaway of Poteau, Okla., Alice Marie and Trenton Dill of Roberta, Okla., and Landry, Kenna and Tatum Shipp of Kemp, Okla.; sisters: Jeanell Walker of Plano, Texas, Lynda Neel of Seely, Texas along with numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Ray Huston Terrell; brother, Rev. David Earl Pruitt and his wife Ruth, and her brother-in-law, Dennis Walker.

A funeral service is set for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, for Lois Marie Terrell, which will be held at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel. Bishop Randell Drake and Bro. Roger Speers will officiate.

Burial will immediately follow in the Bokchito Cemetery in Bokchito, Okla.

Those serving as pallbearers are Justin Shipp, Colt Terrell, Josh Young, Travis Dill, Brent Callaway, Tandy Hix, and Steve Dill. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Thorpe, Randy Sullivan, Huck Callaway, Henry Young, Landry Shipp, and Trenton Dill.
