Joy Ervin, a resident of McKinney, Texas, left this earthly life on April 21, 2021 at the age of 88. She was born in Gurdon, Ark., on June 29, 1932 to Dan Presson and Leccie (Herrick) Presson. Joy married Austion Ervin in Lamesa, Texas, on Dec. 26, 1953.
Joy gladly dedicated her life to caring for her home and family. She was a member of the Baptist faith and if you came to see her, she often had her television turned to a Christian television station or the daily news. Joy enjoyed shopping especially at the Dollar Store or Walmart. Her favorite thing to do was spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Mrs. Ervin is survived by her cherished children, Dwayne Ervin and wife Debbie of Sherman, Texas, Levada Ervin and husband John Craghan of Carthage, Mo., and Jeremy Ervin and wife Kelli of McKinney, Texas; siblings, Charles “Butch” Presson and wife Nina of Seagraves, Texas, Jane Curtis of Seagraves, Texas, and Opal Porter of Andrew, Texas; grandchildren, Joe Ervin, Jr. of Clinton, Ark., Jason Collier of Moore, Okla., Cory Collier of Calera, Okla., Rebecca Ervin of Lewisville, Texas, Wade Ervin of McKinney, Texas, and Cole Ervin of McKinney, Texas, and also by three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ervin was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Joe Ervin and brothers: Leman, Leonard Lee, and Glenn Presson.
Family hour will be from 1-2 p.m. on Monday, April 26, 2021 before the celebration of her life at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray funeral home in Durant, Okla. with Don Hyde officiating. The service will begin at 2pm. Final resting place will be The Rosewood Cemetery in Achille, Okla.
