Mollie Kiser

Mollie Kiser of Calera, Okla., left this earthly life for her heavenly home on April 22, 2021 at the age of 88. Mollie Florenda Denton was born on Feb. 19, 1933 in Madill, Okla., to the Rev. W.N. Denton and Ruth (Wilmoth) Denton. She was the youngest of five children. Mollie married C. F. Kiser on June 21, 1952 in Calera.

Mollie enjoyed doing her own yard work and was still mowing her own yard until a week before she became ill. Her family said, “partly because she enjoyed doing it and partly because she was a bit stubborn and didn’t want us to do it because she was still independent, or we couldn’t do it the way she wanted it done. She was particular that way.”

Mollie was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mead.

Mollie is survived by her children: Ruth Horton and husband Charles of The Colony, Texas, Cindy Goodwin of Victoria, Texas, and Michael Kiser and wife Cindi of Edmond, Okla.; grandchildren: Ryan Horton and wife Jessica of Little Elm, Texas, Amber Leuschner and husband Robby of Victoria, Texas, Angelina Hooper and husband Casey of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Caroline Kiser (who is studying in South Korea), grandchildren: Micah Horton, Andrew Thompson, Taryn Sumner, Kaytlyn Horton, Brooks Horton, Haylee Horton, Maddie Horton, Kristen Leuschner, Brody Leuschner, Ryann Hooper and Dylan Hooper; great-great grandchild, Lucy Horton; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mollie was preceded in death by her husband, C. F. Kiser; parents, W.N. and Ruth Denton; siblings: Irene Horn, Nolan Denton, Norman Denton, and Herman Denton; granddaughter, Cassie Sumner and son-in-law, Tim Goodwin.

A celebration of her life will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday April 27, 2021 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel in Durant, Okla. with Rev. Randy Lewis officiating. Her final earthly resting place will be the Mead Cemetery in Mead, OK, the pallbearers will be her family.
