Charles Brandon Lyde, 27 of Colbert, Okla., died Feb. 9, 2021 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born Sept. 2, 1993 in Durant, Okla., the son of Charles Bradley and Carolyn Lyde. He attended Colbert Schools.
Brandon accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior at age 15 at the Coleman Ave. Church of Christ in Colbert.
Brandon was an accomplished artist and received many awards in high school for his art. Among them the Oklahoma State Fair Superintendents Art for Excellence in art and the Governor’s Award for art.
Brandon is survived by his daughter, Payten Lyde and her mother Amanda Bundrant of Colbert; his parents, Bradley Lyde of Colbert and mother Carolyn Shirey of Greensburg, La.; sister, Kristy and husband Dewain McCray of Roberts, La.; sister, Emily Ladner of Baton Rouge, La.; paternal grandmother, Jan Lyde of Colbert. Brandon also leaves behind many close friends and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Clint Lyde of Colbert.
Funeral arrangement are entrusted to American Funeral Service in Colbert.
Pallbearers are Stan Turner, Dustan Turner, Andrew Jackson, Jonathan Lyde, Jayme Tackett and Preston Hannan. Family night will be Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, from 6-7 p.m. at American Funeral Service in Colbert. The funeral will be held on Friday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Colbert Garden of Memory.
