Theresa Smith of Durant, Okla. passed away January 22, 2021 at the age of 52. She was born Aug. 21, 1968 to Douglas McArthur and Mary Louise (Ray) Smith in Garland, Texas.
Theresa attended Durant High School, and later worked in the healthcare industry as a CNA. She enjoyed drawing, writing, and was a horror movie junkie. Her greatest love was taking care of her grandbabies.
Theresa was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Louise Ray Smith; grandparents, Mildred Smith, LT Herman Smith, Lilly May Ray, and Claude Ray; great nephew, Joe Don White; brother, Thomas Wayne Ray, Tony Prasil and numerous aunts and uncles.
Left to cherish her memory are her father, Douglas McArthur Smith; daughter, Ashleigh Felix; son, Douglas A. Smith; brothers: William “Bubba” Smith of Durant, Okla. and Claude “Tubby” Smith of Bennington, Okla.; sisters: Winnie Sue Merritt of Oklahoma City, Misti Smith of Blue, Okla., Darla Dickerson, Lilly Smith, and Milly Smith, all of Durant, Okla.; grandchildren: Klayton Smith, Aubrielle Felix, Carrington Felix, Rhilyn Humphres, Serenity Billy, and Cherish Billy, all of Durant, Okla.; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Services to celebrate Theresa’s life will be held Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant, Okla. with Dr. Clay and Kevin Dale officiating.
Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Klayton Smith, William “Bubba” Smith, Mike White, Jimmie Smith, Claude “Tubby” Smith, Carl Felix, and Joseph Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Douglas McArthur Smith, Carrington Felix, Douglas A. Smith, Billy Sneed, and James Martin. Visitation will be Saturday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant, Okla.
