Royce Cummins, a resident of Calera, Okla. left this earthly life on Jan. 20, 2021 at the age of 67. He was born in Talihina, Okla. on Dec. 30, 1953 to Otto Bill Cummins and Alma Dean (Pitner) Cummins. Royce married Joyce James in Sherman, Texas on Sept. 6, 1972.
Royce loved being outside under the sun and stars. He enjoyed an afternoon fishing, the cool fall days of deer hunting with good friends, and a cozy campfire when camping. He was employed by A 1 Printing in Sherman, Texas for 23 years, and a member of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Cummins is survived by his beloved wife Joyce of the home; children: Shauntae Cummins, also of the home, and Greg Cummins of Colbert, Okla., siblings: Alma Louise Lemons of Calera, Okla., Otis Bill Cummins and wife Susan of Calera, Okla., Bernadine Medler of Colbert, Okla., Henry Cummins and wife Kathy of Colbert, Okla., and Robby Cummins and wife Teresa of Colbert, Okla.; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Cummins is preceded in death by his parents, Otto Bill and Alma Cummins.
A celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021 at the Lighthouse Church in Colbert, Okla. with Bro. Joe Beshirs officiating. Royce’s final resting place will be the Garden of Memories in Colbert.
His pallbearers will be Pete York, Ryan Cummins, Dustin Cummins, Ricky Lemons, Chris Martin, and Arnold (Skiddy) Medler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Lemons and Bryant Cummins
