Rosie Ellen Pair, of Durant, Okla., passed from this life on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019 in Durant at the age of 92. She was born on Friday, July 15, 1927 in Caney, Okla. to Thomas Otto and Dora (Wade) Hopkins.
She was a lifelong resident of Bryan County. She was a member of the Choctaw nation. She was a longtime member of the Victory Tabernacle Church in Durant. Her life was dedicated to her family and her church. She raised all of her children in the church and they all attended Victory Tabernacle with her. She accomplished an attendance record of 23 years without missing a service.
She was married to Johnny Eldon Pair on August 17, 1942 in Caddo, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Otto and Dora (Wade) Hopkins; husband, Johnny Eldon Pair; four brothers and four sisters; grandchildren, Johna Pair, Mark Pair, Weldon Pair; son-in-law Don Stephens and daughter-in-law Barbara Sue Pair.
Survivors include sons: Johnny Pair and wife Lisa of Calera, Okla., Doyle Author Pair and wife Margaret Ann of Durant, Okla., Dale Wayne Pair and wife Donice of Durant, Okla.; daughters: Judith Ann Rose and husband Louis of Durant, Okla., LaDonna Kay Stephens of Durant, Okla., Twila Brewer and husband Bobby of Durant, Okla.; sister, Ruby McCurry of Mead, Okla.; 21 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 55 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well as a host of friends and church family.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Victory Tabernacle Church in Durant, Okla. with Bro. Curt Green officiating. Dale Pair, Doyle Wayne Pair, Dale Wayne Pair, Cody Nichols, Coby Brewer and Jacob Davis will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Pair and Elijah Pair.
