The Durant Education and Service Sorority will host their Annual Parade of Homes on Sunday, Dec. 8. Homes on the tour will be open for viewing from 1-5 p.m. In conjunction with the Parade of Homes, there will be a gift show at Opera House Coffee, 200 Evergreen Street, from 12-5 p.m., with booths featuring beauty products, home decor, clothing, and more!

Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. They can be purchased from any DESS member, as well as at Bliss Boutique, Marie’s, The Medicine Store, Hot Shots, and Kopper Kettle. Money raised from this event goes directly back into Bryan County, donations to Durant Public Schools, J127 Ministry, Families Feeding Families, the Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival, as well as several other local philanthropies.

The fourth home to be featured on the tour is located at 251 Rogers Circle, Durant, and it is owned by Paul and Ann Roesler. Paul is a nurse anesthetist at Alliance Health-Durant, and Ann manages their rental business, Watercolor Properties, LLC.

The Roeslers built their Cape Cod style home in 1993 where they raised their five children. The home is approximately 2,700 square feet with four bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and a one-room cottage by the pool.

The home features many handcrafted items created by family members, and several of the tables in the home and the one-room cottage were built by Paul. You will find many beautiful paintings all crafted by Ann’s grandmother, and memorabilia from Paul’s time spent racing boats with family at a lake in Wisconsin.

The home backs up to Eagle Lake with a wonderful view of the lake from the living room. Ann says they have done a fair amount of remodeling in the house through their 27 years in the home! Many walls have been moved, rooms painted and floors changed out, not to mention the different uses each room has had depending on the need the family had at the moment with their five children.
