Louise Kennedy, 88, of Calera passed away at her home on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019 with her family by her side. Louise was born on December 15, 1930 in Boswell, Okla. to Earnest Lee Hall and Nannie Etta (Dillard) Hall.
She attended school at Boswell and in Tulsa. She later married Harold Kennedy in Boswell on May 22, 1948. She was a farmer’s wife who picked cotton, baled hay, chased cows, and milked cows. Louise was a seamstress who loved to make hand-pieced quilts, crochet, make doll clothes that she would give away. She was a very talented woman.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 70 years Harold in May of 2017, daughter Ellen Hendrix, brother Robert Lee Hall, sister LaNell Hall, and grandson JP Kennedy.
Louise is survived by her daughter Sharon Kennedy-Canan of Okmulgee, OK, son Keith Kennedy and wife Cindy of Calera, OK, Son-In-Law Kennie Hendrix of Durant, grandchildren Michelle Canan, Heather (Hendrix) Leonhart and husband Scott, Robert Canan and wife Cyndy, Steven Canan and wife Laura, Kyle Hendrix and wife Amanda, and Dr. Eric Kennedy and wife Lori. She also has eleven great grandchildren Tyler Leonhart, Cole Leonhart, Reid Leonhart, Max Canan, Ettalyn Canan, Caetlyn Canan, Treyton Hendrix, Austin Hendrix, Caydee Kennedy, Harper Kennedy, and Sawyer Kennedy along with many other relatives and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 1, 2019 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Travis Huffman officiating. Family hour will be from 5-6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019 at Brown’s Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery in Calera with Keith Kennedy, Kennie Hendrix, Robert Canan, Steven Canan, Kyle Hendrix, Eric Kennedy, and Scott Leonhart serving as pallbearers.
