Willa E. (Russell) Dellinger, a precious soul, left this earthly life an joined her beloved Savior in Denison, Texas on Friday, Aug. 30, 2019 at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 18 days. Willa was born in Lone Oak, Okla. on June 12, 1940 to Arlin Russell and Myrtle (Whitfield) Russell. She married her cherished husband Carl Dellinger in Durant, Okla. on May 29, 1959.
Willa was a former member of the Fairview and Calvary Baptist Churches. She was a graduate of the Durant High School class of 1959. Willa enjoyed going to social activities and concerts with her family and listening to old country music. She could often be found watching old western movies starring John Wayne or Audie Murphy. Willa cherished her family and especially looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she considered them one of her greatest blessings.
Mrs. Dellinger is survived by the love of her life, Carl Dellinger of the home; children: Nancy Rodgers and her companion Greg Gorda of Durant, Okla. and Ricky Dellinger and companion Heather Holt of Durant, Okla.; grandchildren: Misty Foster and companion Jason Shay of Durant, Okla., Matthew Rodgers and wife Cassy of Durant, Okla., and Jared Dellinger of Durant, Okla.; great-grandchildren: Blake Foster, Macy Shay-Rodgers, Makayle Shay-Rodgers, Brooklyn Shay-Rodgers, Harley Shay-Rodgers, Faylynn Rodgers, and Camdyn Dellinger: brothers: Harold Russell of Calera, Okla. and Arlin “Bud” Russell of Bokchito, Okla.; sister, Linda Kelsey and husband Larry of Achille, Okla.; grandson-in-law, A.J. Foster; sister-in-law: Stella Russell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Dellinger was preceded in death by her parents, Arlin and Myrtle Russell; siblings: D.O., G.L. Russell and Loretta Davis; sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann, Mary Lou, Paula Russell, and Kathy Russell; also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Tony Rodgers.
Family hour will be from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019 at the Holmes~Coffey Murray Chapel in Durant, Okla. A celebration of her life will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Mickey Davis officiating.
Her final resting place will be at the Highland Cemetery with Dustin Young, Jason House, Jimmy Davis, Rusty Davis, Rusty Parr, Jared Dellinger, and Geoffrey Russell as her pallbearers. Willa’s honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews of Willa Dellinger.
Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant.
