Zoe Elizabeth (Buchanan) Rawlings, age 47, of Durant, Okla., passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Methodist Transplant Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Zoe was born on April 5, 1977 in Sherman, Texas, to Brian and Elisabeth (Moss) Buchanan.
Zoe grew up and attended school in Durant, graduating from Durant High School in 1995. She was a proud member of the first girls softball team in Durant, that was started in 1993. Zoe also played basketball and was on the track team.
After high school, she attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University, then later pursued a career as a medical coder for over 20 years.
Zoe loved going to concerts and watching sporting events, especially football, as she was openly an avid Texas Longhorns and Green Bay Packers fan! Anyone that ever met Zoe knows that she had a presence that could never go unnoticed so she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Zoe was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Fern Moss, Gerald and Gwen Buchanan and stepbrother, Jordan Mustafa.
She is survived by her parents, Elisabeth Buchanan of Durant, Okla. and Brian and Cathie Buchanan of San Antonio, Texas; children: Reese Shepeard of Denton, Texas, Sam Rawlings of Durant, Okla., Avery Rawlings of Durant, Okla.; sister, Lynn Buchanan of Durant, Okla.; stepbrothers, Joe and wife Yolanda of Leander, Texas, Jason and wife Kim of San Antonio, Texas; nieces, Lauren Vela, Jordan Nelson, Kaylee Medina, Karissa Couly, Kara, Kaylee, Katie, Izabella and Khloe Mustafa, Sylvie Couly; nephews, Cade Buchanan, Kassam and JJ Mustafa; great nieces, Mya Buchanan, Violet Medina; great nephews, Colton Medina, numerous cousins, family and friends.
A memorial service will be held, Friday, August 16, 2024 at 2 p.m.. at First Baptist Church, Durant, Okla.
