Zefe Laborico

Zefe Laborico passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021 at the age of 42 after his battle with COVID. He was born in his beloved Nebraska and lived in Durant, Okla. the rest of his days. It was not a choice he made, but he built an amazing life here.

Zefe was a momma’s boy to the core! Theresa loved him fiercely and it showed in the way he loved others. It gives us great comfort knowing they were not separated for long. Zefe married Charlee, the only woman who would put up with him, aside from his mother, who said she could return him at any time. Zefe and Charlee were married May 8, 2010, and have three beautiful girls: Gabbi (10), Izzy (7), and Evie (1), who he adored.

Zefe attended Victory Life Academy where he would not have made it without the help and love of Miss Lindley. Victory Life Church was where he and his family fellowshipped. Zefe loved working with his hands, especially on cars. He worked with close friends Todd and Parker Holland at Randy’s Body Shop. He prided himself on knowing all makes and models of vehicles – and who in town drove them! He was passionate about hunting and included anyone he could force into it – especially his daughters. Zefe had a laugh and smile that filled every room he was in. We will miss his ability to make you so mad in one second and smile the next. He was ornery and loving in the same breath.

Those left to care for his precious girls are his Pops, Zefe Laborico; his wing-man Robby Laborico, and wife Ashley; hunting partner and nephew Caleb Hernandez; and Gunner Laborico, who has blessed all of our lives; family: Brandon and Tammy Johnson, Jesse and Melista Lewis, Josh and Melissa Garrett, Tim and Larissa Lee, Bryan and Jamee Wix and Caleb and Erica Daniels. Also left behind are brothers Juan and Manuel Hernandez

Services for Zefe will be held Monday, September 13, 2021 at Victory Life Church. Zefe had a dislike for flowers, and mowed over them every chance he had, and never bought them for his wife. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the benefit account for the Laborico families at First United Bank, Account #5446880.

His family will be forever grateful for the amazing care and support given to Charlee and Zefe while he was at Alliance Health Durant. They became a family over the last month. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Gordon, nurses Angie, Lydia, Logan, Ashley, Carrie, Jill, Lisa, Shelby, Kearstyn, Janica, and Dianne, and respiratory therapists Amanda, Andrew, & Tim.

Arrangements under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Home.
