Zane Marie (Heath) Fox, a beloved mother and sister, of Caddo, Okla., passed from this life on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the age of 93. She was born on Friday, August 16, 1929 in Stringtown, Okla., to Joseph Clovis “J.C.” and Addie Lee (Motes) Heath.
She graduated from Stringtown High School at Stringtown, Okla., in 1947. In 1951, she earned her bachelor’s degree in English at Hardin Simmons University and was a member of Sigma Tau Delta. She then worked on her master’s degree at Texas Christian University.
She taught school at South Birdville, Texas and in Atoka and Caney, Okla. After her teaching career, her love of her family and rural living allowed her to run a few cattle.
She married Ralph E. Fox on Friday, March 2, 1956.
She was preceded in death by her parents J.C. and Addie Lee (Motes) Heath; husband Ralph E. Fox; brother, Kenneth Heath.
Survivors include her children, Janet Sutton and husband Troy of Caddo, Okla., and James Fox and wife Deatra of Caddo, Okla.; sister, Marjorie Heath of Irving, Texas; brother, Gordon Heath of DeSoto, Texas as well as other extended family.
A family visitation will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Gordon Funeral Home.
