Wyndol Fry

Charles Wyndol Fry was born on July 23, 1941, the son of Charles Albert Fry and Anna Bee (Johnson) Fry. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry Wayne Fry.

Wyndol was a graduate of Hugo High School, Class of 1959. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and after his return from service in 1960, he enrolled in Southeastern Oklahoma University and earned his Bachelor’s degree. In 1972, he received his Vocational Certification in Trade and Industry from Oklahoma State University and went on to receive his  Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling from SOSU, his School Administrator Certification from Oklahoma University and his Superintendent Certification from Tulsa University. Wyndol proudly returned to his Alma Mater, Hugo High where he served as a vocational carpentry teacher, principal, and finally Assistant Superintendent. He spent twenty-five years serving the district he proudly grew up in.

On September 10, 1994, he married the love of his life Janet Williams. They made their home together in McKinney, Texas where Wyndol began his work in Texas as Assistant Superintendent of McKinney ISD. He spent nine years dedicated to thoughtfully growing the district.  Of his many accomplishments, one he was most proud of was being hands on in the planning and development of the first sustainable school, Roy Lee Walker Elementary. This award-winning school jumpstarted his career and led to the development of Wyndol Fry Consulting, through this firm he oversaw new bond construction projects for Melissa ISD, Paris ISD, McKinney ISD and numerous other school construction projects.

Wyndol was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at camp with his friends and family. He also enjoyed building model trains and airplanes. His greatest love was his family, and they cherished the time they spent together. Wyndol was a member of Stepping Stones Church in McKinney, Texas and of the Baptist faith. Wyndol’s passing has left a huge void in the lives of his family. He was an amazing father, grandfather, husband, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Wyndol is survived by his wife, Janet Fry; son, Drake Fry and wife Sasha of Hugo, Okla.; daughters, Kim (Fry) Bolding and husband Harrell of Russellville, Ark., Courtney Currie and husband James of McKinney, Texas and Reagan Veazey of Gresham, Ore.; grandchildren: Amanda Gage, Kortney Kain, Taylor Fry, Hunter Fry, Morgan Fry, William Currie, and Patrick Currie; great-grandchildren: Cayden Nassar, Jayda Kain, Keelan Yazel, Isiah Wiggins and Preston Cook; twin brother, Lyndol Fry and wife Carolyn of Hugo, Okla. along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Pallbearers will be Roy Stark, Kenneth Brown, George Veazey, Ernie Taylor, II, James Currie, Dudley Patterson and Will Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers: Ernie Taylor and George Sutton.
