Wisconsin man dead following wreck in Mead

One person is dead as a result of a single car accident in Mead on Monday night.

James Lamar, 60, of Spooner, Wisc., was driving a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix southbound on Streetman Road approximately 3 miles south of U.S. Highway 70 when he lost control of his vehicle, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The vehicle departed the roadway to the right overturning approximately 1 1/2 times and came to rest on its top. Lamar was pronounced dead on the scene from multiple injuries.

The seatbelt was in use and the airbags were equipped but did not deploy.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. The OHP was assisted by the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office, West Bryan County Fire Department, Durant Fire Department, Bryan County EMS, and the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office.
