DURANT – The annual Wine and Roses get-together to kick off the Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival season will be tonight and at a new venue.
Wine Roses, hosted by the OSF Board of Trustees, will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Roadhouse located at 116 N. Second Ave. in Durant.
Riley Coker, OSF Producing Director, said there will again this year be several OSF participants on hand to entertain those in attendance.
“We’re going to have several OSF participants come and provide some entertainment,” Coker said. “We’re going to have lots of information about how you can get involved, how you can donate, how to purchase season tickets and when to come see the shows. Come on down and drink some wine and have a snack and be entertained by us.”
She said there is still time to get children and teens enrolled for this summer’s activities. The Children’s Theatre will be performing ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and the Young Actor’s Studio will be performing ‘Dear Edwina.’
Tonight’s Wine and Roses is meant to be a relaxing evening of entertainment, but also and informative time.
“It really helps us get the word out about our upcoming 39th season,” Coker said. “It will help alert the public about what shows we’re doing and how they can get involved. And how they can get their tickets.”
